Lisa and Sam didn’t live in Ithaca, so instead of a traditional engagement session months in advance, we decided to do their engagement photos just a few days before the wedding at Stewart Park in Ithaca, NY.
It turned out to be the perfect choice.
Taking engagement photos right before the wedding was a great way for us to get to know each other before the big day. We kept things easy and relaxed—walking along the lake, enjoying the scenery, and capturing natural moments without any pressure or expectations.
Stewart Park was the ideal setting for their session. The open space, lake views, and soft light created a calm, beautiful backdrop that let Lisa and Sam focus on each other. These photos weren’t about perfection—they were about connection, comfort, and having fun together.
By the time their wedding day arrived, everything felt familiar. That time together made a big difference, and it shows in both their engagement photos and their wedding images.
If you’re planning a wedding in Ithaca and don’t live locally, a pre-wedding engagement session can be a wonderful way to slow down, get comfortable in front of the camera, and capture meaningful memories before the celebration begins. Check out Lisa and Sam's Ithaca Farmer's Market Wedding here!
